Ole Miss Rebels Celebrate Historic Season with Playoff Run

The Ole Miss Rebels experienced one of the most remarkable seasons in their football history during the 2025 campaign. Under the leadership of head coach Lane Kiffin, the Rebels showcased their talent and resilience, culminating in a College Football Playoff appearance for the first time ever. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who stepped in after an injury to starter Austin Simmons, threw for 3,937 yards and 22 touchdowns, while also rushing for 527 yards and eight touchdowns. Running back Kewan Lacy, a transfer from Missouri, emerged as a key player, rushing for over 1,500 yards and scoring 24 touchdowns. The Rebels finished the regular season with only one loss, a testament to their strong performance in the SEC. However, the season took a dramatic turn when Kiffin accepted the head coaching position at rival LSU after the Egg Bowl victory. Defensive coordinator Pete Golding took over for the playoffs, leading the team to a victory over Tulane and a Sugar Bowl win against Georgia before falling to Miami in the semifinals.
